Hello

As someone with a passionate interest in history I am always keen to learn new things and to share them with other people.  This particularly applies to Welsh history and even more particularly to local Welsh history.

I was born in Caerphilly and grew up with the castle as the backdrop to my life.  As a child it was the perfect place to play and it never occurred to me that it was unusual to have a medieval castle almost in your back garden - didn't eveyone?

In school my house was "Llewellyn Bren" although at the time I didn't know who that was.

Also in school I learnt about the Chartists, the Rebecca Riots and the industrial revolution in Wales which spurred me on to find out more, and especially Caerphilly's place in that history.

With a background in performance this seemed to be the perfect way to express my interest in local history through the use of storytelling and so Caerphilly Audio Tours was born.

I am still learning, exploring and investigating our local history and how Caerphilly interacted with the wider community in Wales and the world.  Explorations which will, in time, be turned into more audio tours for you to enjoy.
